Role Overview: The Speech Therapist in Home Health assesses and treats patients with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. They develop and implement personalized treatment plans, perform interventions to improve communication and functional abilities, and monitor patient progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide speech therapy services within state law and in coordination with the healthcare team
- Evaluate patient function using diagnostic tests and assist in developing therapy plans
- Treat patients to improve communication based on their condition and standards of practice
- Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to supervising professionals
- Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members on speech therapy techniques and participation
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed in Speech Therapy within the state
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation or public transit
