Heating Air Conditioning Technician

About This Role

This role is for an experienced HVAC Technician to join a mechanical contractor in Dallas, Texas, focusing on commercial construction projects. The technician will support installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of commercial HVAC systems across various projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems across construction projects
• Work with commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, air handling units, and ductwork
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate installations
• Diagnose system faults and carry out repairs to maintain optimal equipment performance
• Assist with equipment start-up, system testing, commissioning, and performance checks
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to meet project schedules
• Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards
• Identify potential issues during installation and communicate solutions to the relevant project team
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any equipment issues

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician, ideally within commercial construction or mechanical contracting
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, installation, and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications
• Experience working on commercial buildings such as offices, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, or industrial projects
• Knowledge of HVAC safety procedures and applicable codes and regulations
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
