About the opportunity

Via is partnering with an established healthcare recruitment agency to recruit a Regional Manager to lead a team of recruitment consultants within a busy temporary healthcare staffing environment.

This role is specifically suited to someone who has built their career within healthcare recruitment and has experience managing recruitment consultants, leading a successful desk or taking responsibility for the performance of a recruitment team.

You might already be working as a Recruitment Manager, Team Leader, Principal Consultant, Managing Consultant or Senior Recruitment Consultant and be ready to take on greater leadership responsibility.

You'll be responsible for driving team performance, developing consultants and ensuring the team delivers against recruitment, bookings and revenue targets. This is a hands-on role, so you'll need to understand the realities of running a healthcare recruitment desk and be comfortable stepping in to support consultants with clients, candidates and difficult-to-fill requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of healthcare recruitment consultants
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of the team against revenue, bookings, activity and placement targets
  • Hold regular 1:1s, provide coaching and help consultants improve their performance
  • Set clear KPIs and create a high-performance, accountable recruitment environment
  • Use your own experience of running a healthcare recruitment desk to coach consultants on client and candidate management
  • Drive temporary bookings, placements, shift coverage and overall commercial performance
  • Support consultants with difficult-to-fill requirements and challenging client or candidate situations
  • Build and develop relationships with healthcare clients
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and increase revenue
  • Maintain strong candidate pipelines to support client demand and shift coverage
  • Oversee recruitment activity from initial requirement through to placement
  • Ensure candidates meet the necessary healthcare compliance and credentialing requirements
  • Monitor team activity, pipeline and performance data and report key information to senior management
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, productivity and commercial performance
  • Work closely with compliance, operations and other recruitment teams

What we're looking for

Previous healthcare recruitment agency experience is essential for this role.

You'll ideally have:

  • 3+ years' experience working within healthcare recruitment or healthcare staffing
  • Experience recruiting healthcare professionals within a recruitment agency or staffing business
  • Experience managing or leading recruitment consultants, or significant experience leading a successful healthcare recruitment desk
  • A strong track record of delivering against recruitment, revenue, placement or booking targets
  • Experience within temporary healthcare staffing, such as nursing, care, medical, AHP, locum or similar markets
  • Strong knowledge of the healthcare recruitment lifecycle, from candidate sourcing through to placement
  • An understanding of healthcare compliance and credentialing requirements
  • Experience coaching or developing other recruiters or consultants
  • Strong client development and account management skills
  • Commercial awareness and confidence working in a target and KPI-driven environment
  • The ability to manage challenging client, candidate and team situations
  • Strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive and accountable approach to leadership
  • Ability to work from the Bedfordshire office at least three days per week

We'd particularly like to hear from people currently working as a Healthcare Recruitment Manager, Recruitment Team Leader, Managing Consultant, Principal Consultant, Senior Recruitment Consultant, Healthcare Staffing Manager or similar.

Why apply?

  • £45,000–£50,000 base salary
  • Commission on top of your base salary
  • Hybrid working
  • Take ownership of an established healthcare recruitment team
  • Coach and develop recruitment consultants while remaining close to the desk
  • Direct responsibility for team performance and commercial results
  • Opportunity to develop existing healthcare client relationships
  • Scope to influence recruitment processes and contribute to business growth

If you're an experienced healthcare recruiter who has managed consultants or successfully led a healthcare recruitment desk and you're ready for your next leadership opportunity, we'd like to hear from you.
