Flexible availability required every other Friday for shifts between:
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Job Summary
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for accurately processing payroll for hourly and salaried employees while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This role supports payroll operations, including wage garnishments, tax deductions, benefits administration, payroll audits, and employee payroll inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with multiple payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
- Manage payroll-related transactions such as wage garnishments, benefits deductions, 401(k) contributions, and payroll transfers
- Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, and review payroll records for accuracy and data integrity
- Maintain and update employee payroll records within HRIS/payroll systems
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations, including year-end reporting (e.g., W-2 processing)
- Calculate retroactive pay adjustments and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Support leadership with payroll reporting, accounting, and special projects
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of payroll processing experience, including garnishments, taxes, and year-end payroll activities
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems such as Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, ADP, QuickBooks, PayChoice, or similar platforms
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
Preferred Certifications
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
