About the role
Job Purpose To lead and drive policy advocacy initiatives for the Copper business by engaging with government bodies, regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other external stakeholders. The role is responsible for influencing policy decisions, monitoring regulatory developments, assessing business impact, and representing the organization's interests to enable sustainable business growth and competitiveness.

- Develop and execute the policy advocacy strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor emerging government policies, regulations, and legislative developments impacting the copper and metals industry.
- Identify opportunities and risks arising from policy changes and recommend appropriate actions.
- Represent the organization in consultations, industry forums, and stakeholder meetings.
- Government & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with central and state government departments, regulators, policymakers, and industry associations.
- Engage with relevant ministries and authorities on matters concerning the metals and mining sector.
- Coordinate with external consultants, trade bodies, and industry chambers for advocacy initiatives.
- Strategic Analysis & Recommendations
- Analyze policy and regulatory frameworks and assess their impact on business operations, investments, taxation, trade, sustainability, and growth plans.
- Develop policy position papers, briefing notes, presentations, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Support leadership in strategic discussions and engagements with external stakeholders.
- Industry Representation
- Represent the organization in industry associations and working groups.
- Collaborate with industry peers to address sector-wide issues and advocate favorable policy outcomes.
- Monitor global trends and benchmark policy developments relevant to the metals sector.
- Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Heads, Legal, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, Finance, Operations, and Strategy teams.
- Ensure timely communication of policy developments to internal stakeholders.
- Support business units in addressing regulatory challenges and compliance-related matters.
