Head of Transportation

About This Role

This role involves leading the transportation function for a retail and consumer goods company, overseeing a complex, multi-modal network to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective product movement through the supply chain. The Head of Transportation will collaborate with Product and Engineering for technology integration and provide strategic advice to business leaders, while also driving parcel strategy, fleet performance, and operational execution to meet service and KPI targets.

Responsibilities

• Direct and optimize a multi-modal transportation network
• Own the parcel strategy across multiple carriers
• Oversee fleet operations and manage a team of 50+ personnel
• Ensure compliance with global shipping regulations and trade requirements
• Account for meeting critical transportation KPIs
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on technology integration
• Serve as a strategic partner to business units across the organization

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in transportation or supply chain operations
• Strong expertise in transportation contract negotiation
• Experience with international transportation and trade compliance
• Proven ability to manage operational details while understanding strategic goals
• Skilled in quantitative analysis and complex project management
• Proficient in spreadsheet and presentation tools

• 2-3 years of experience in management consulting or analytical roles
