Responsibilities
Mercedes-Benz Vans is a successful manufacturer of premium light commercial vehicles (LCV) for customers and markets worldwide. Our purpose is “to move transportation to the next level” and to define the LCV business of the future: focused on sustainability, connectivity and digital solutions. We have decided to expand our LCV production capacity and implement an entirely new plant next to our existing Mercedes-Benz production facility in Jawor. We are now looking for highly-motivated employees, who would like to shape the future of mobility together with us!
- Ensures continued improvement of paint shop processes that increase productivity and improvement of quality standards; documents results and aligns with other departments;
- Develops, tests, and implements measures to improve production processes; works closely with maintenance department;
- Contributes to the planning and implementation of new work processes to increase productivity; provides suggestions and input to improve production process, productivity, and quality;
- Controls and monitors production processes to ensure achievement of production plan in line with productivity objectives; coordinates production process and flow across departments; identifies issues and bottlenecks;
- Defines cost targets, documents and monitors achievement, and if necessary implement corrective measures;
- Reports on production progress and defines maintenance and repair activities;
- Assesses new designs and impact on production process, quality, quantity, efficiency, and resources; develops production layout;
- Considers and ensures compliance of product-specific and plant-specific environmental and safety concerns and government regulations;
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, directives, and work agreements;
- Ensures compliance with the required product quality standards.
- Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings;
- Will perform other duties as assigned;
- 2-6 Engineers possible and 4-6 Group leaders as direct reports, 150-200 indirect reports; leads employees in line with organizational culture, values and guidelines; defines performance goals, conducts performance reviews; effectively communicates and engages employees to meet objectives;
- Responsible for employee development and qualification;
- Will be responsible to plan, maintain, and meet department budgets; manages budget and personnel allocation efficiently. Conveys budget distribution and cost saving processes to colleagues.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in vehicle manufacturing and paint shop management;
- Qualified candidate must have extensive knowledge in corrosion protection and paint application processes and state of the art automated and robotic equipment;
- Must have excellent knowledge in LEAN manufacturing and how to apply it in a modern work environment;
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in an intercultural, fast-paced, changing, and growing environment;
- Languages: fluent English and wherever applicable German and Polish.
- Internal candidates must have PV44 certificate.
