An established international business operating across Asia is seeking a commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to join its senior leadership team. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping financial direction, strengthening governance, and supporting long-term business growth across multiple markets.
Role Overview
Reporting to senior leadership, the CFO will oversee all financial matters, ensuring the organisation maintains a strong financial position while supporting operational and strategic objectives. The role requires a proactive business partner who can provide insights, challenge assumptions, and contribute to key investment and growth decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Formulate and execute financial plans aligned with business priorities
- Contribute to corporate strategy and key commercial initiatives
- Provide financial guidance to senior stakeholders and leadership team
- Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and create sustainable value
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring processes
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting across regions
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making
- Develop and track key metrics to measure business success
- Enhance management reporting tools and financial systems
Treasury & Funding
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital effectively
- Oversee banking relationships and financing arrangements
- Support funding strategies and capital structure optimisation
- Lead negotiations with financial institutions and partners
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax requirements, and statutory obligations
- Strengthen internal controls and risk management frameworks
- Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Oversee tax planning and cross-border compliance matters
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
- Promote continuous improvement, automation, and process efficiency
- Drive transformation initiatives within the finance function
- Foster collaboration between finance and other business functions
Business Partnership
- Support operational leaders with financial insights and analysis
- Participate in major projects such as expansion, restructuring, or integration
- Provide financial input on investment and business development opportunities
- Ensure finance remains closely aligned with operational priorities

- A senior finance professional with strong strategic and commercial acumen
- Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, multi-market environments
- A confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders

- Demonstrated success in driving transformation and improving performance
Experience & Qualifications
- 15+ years of extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles
- Prior experience overseeing regional or international finance operations
- Strong background in trading related industries is required
- Experience working with external auditors, banks, and financial partners
- Exposure to corporate transactions, restructuring, or business transformation is advantageous
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA or equivalent) required
- Strong proficiency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
