Leading the accounting department, this role involves overseeing financial accounting and controlling, ensuring accurate financial statements, and driving process improvements. Responsibilities
- Take professional and organizational responsibility for financial accounting and controlling
- Manage and coordinate ongoing financial accounting
- Be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB (German Commercial Code)
- Ensure proper booking and closing processes
- Further develop internal reporting and relevant financial and corporate key figures
- Create and coordinate budget, planning, and forecast processes
- Conduct actual-versus-target comparisons, variance analyses, and business evaluations
- Prepare meaningful decision-making bases for management
- Optimize and digitize existing processes in the finance department
- Collaborate with internal departments and external contacts such as auditors and tax advisors
- Actively participate in change and development projects
Requirements
- Completed business administration degree or a comparable commercial qualification with a focus on finance, accounting, or controlling
- Sound knowledge in preparing financial statements according to HGB
- Good controlling knowledge, especially in budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and reporting
- Experience in professional and/or disciplinary leadership of employees
- Proficient in ERP and financial systems, and very good MS Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and a binding and cooperative leadership style
- Experience in a retail environment is an advantage
