About This Role

Leading kitchen operations and maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, creativity, and presentation is the core of this Head Chef role. The successful candidate will oversee menu preparation, supervise kitchen staff, manage inventory, and ensure every dish meets the restaurant's quality standards. This role requires strong culinary expertise, effective leadership, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure efficient food preparation and service
• Lead, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and prep cooks
• Develop, refine, and maintain menus that reflect the restaurant's culinary style and standards
• Ensure all dishes meet expectations for flavor, freshness, consistency, and presentation
• Establish recipes, portion standards, and preparation procedures
• Coordinate kitchen activities to ensure timely service during busy periods
• Train and mentor kitchen employees to improve culinary skills and team performance
• Monitor food inventory, manage stock rotation, and coordinate supplier orders
• Control food costs, minimize waste, and maintain appropriate portion sizes
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene requirements
• Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance or replacement needs
• Collaborate with restaurant management on menu planning, seasonal specials, and operational improvements
• Accommodate dietary requirements and communicate allergen information appropriately
• Maintain accurate records of food preparation, inventory, and kitchen procedures
• Monitor staff performance and maintain a professional, organized kitchen environment
• Ensure the kitchen follows company policies and applicable health regulations

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or senior kitchen leader
• Strong culinary knowledge and practical food preparation skills
• Experience leading, training, and managing kitchen teams
• Ability to develop menus, standardize recipes, and maintain consistent food quality
• Understanding of food costing, inventory control, and waste reduction
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergen management
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods
• Creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to culinary excellence
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards
