About This Role
This full-time position as a Hotel Maintenance Engineer involves managing building systems and performing overall building maintenance and repairs. The role suits a candidate who can work in a hands-on team environment and provide exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times
- Communicate and coordinate with colleagues as necessary
- Perform maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of the building, hotel rooms, and lighting, heating/air conditioning (HVAC) ventilation, water treatment systems
- Have basic knowledge of HVAC/ plumbing/ electrical and be able to perform troubleshooting
- Perform painting and plasterwork on the interior and exterior of the building and hotel rooms
- Be responsible for fire brigade / fire safety duties
- Conduct inspections, projects, and maintenance repairs; maintain records
- Ensure the security of inventory such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance for building systems, rooms, and public spaces
- Repair as needed; HVAC systems, handy work, plumbing, plastering, etc.
- Attend mandatory meetings and/or training as scheduled
- Perform any other duties and projects as requested by supervisor
- Be able to lift 50-75 pounds and up to 30 ft in height
Requirements
- 2+ years experience as a Handyman or maintenance position in a hotel preferred
- Broad base of experience in several areas such as electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, preventive maintenance, painting/plastering
- 2+ years experience in painting and plasterwork
- Full availability
- Applicants who do not already have legal permission to work in the United States will not be considered
- 3-5 years of Handyman or Maintenance experience
- Relocate to New York, NY 10017 before starting work (Required)
