About This Role

This role involves ensuring smooth and consistent resolution to maintenance issues throughout the hotel, addressing tasks logged during shifts and received via verbal instructions. It suits a Handyman with a proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve maintenance issues logged during a shift and via verbal instructions
• Oversee security, pools, grounds, and hotel rooms
• Perform general DIY and maintenance, including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorating

Requirements

• Matric
• 3–5 years of previous Handyman/Maintenance experience
• Additional qualifications within the field advantageous
• Hands-on problem-solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
• Effective communication with members of staff and guests of the hotel
• Honest and trustworthy
• Great attention to detail
• Presentable and well-spoken
• Team player who leads by example
• Proactive in approach
• Interpersonal skills
• Ability to run with multiple tasks/jobs at once
