This vital role involves maintaining, repairing, and improving various facilities and equipment to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient environment. The handyman will uphold high standards of workplace safety and operational excellence, applying a diverse skill set across multiple projects and making a tangible difference in daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building structures, fixtures, and equipment using power tools and manual handling techniques
- Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately execute repair and installation tasks
- Conduct erosion control measures and implement safety regulations in accordance with OSHA safety standards during all projects
- Repair or replace damaged equipment, ensuring proper functioning through mechanical knowledge and industrial construction experience
- Assist with climbing, heavy lifting, and working at heights while adhering to respiratory protection and other workplace safety protocols
- Support construction projects by following detailed instructions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, including erosion control measures
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including safety inspections, equipment repairs, and project documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial construction or maintenance roles with a strong understanding of construction workplace safety regulations
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings accurately
- Mechanical knowledge coupled with hands-on experience in equipment repair and power tools operation
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, respiratory protection requirements, and manual handling best practices
- Physical capability for climbing, heavy lifting, and working in various environmental conditions while maintaining workplace safety
- Familiarity with erosion control techniques and implementing safety regulations on construction sites
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety compliance
