About This Role
This energetic role is for a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join a facilities maintenance team. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of building interiors, systems, and equipment, helping to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all occupants.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and building interior components
- Conduct repairs using hand tools, welding equipment, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot issues accurately
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage to ensure optimal operation
- Execute building interior maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, drywall repairs, and general refurbishment projects
- Assist with HVAC system repairs and troubleshooting to ensure climate control systems operate efficiently
- Read schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions
- Supervise or assist with maintenance projects while adhering to safety standards and best practices in facilities management
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO)
- Proficiency with electrical work including electrical equipment repair and electrical system troubleshooting
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including repair, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English
Nice to have:
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automated systems
- Familiarity with power tools
- Supervising or leadership experience for overseeing maintenance activities or junior team members
