This role is for a Hairdresser who provides high-quality hair care services, including cutting, colouring, styling, and treatments. It requires a deep understanding of hair care techniques, excellent guest service skills, and a passion for helping guests achieve their desired look.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality hair care services to guests, including cutting, colouring, styling, and treatment
- Conduct thorough consultations to understand guest preferences and hair care goals
- Provide professional advice on hair care, maintenance, and suitable styles based on hair type and facial features
- Stay updated with the latest hair trends and techniques
- Suggest and create trendy, fashionable hairstyles that suit guests
- Provide exceptional service to ensure a positive client experience
- Address client questions, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of tools, equipment, and workstations
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe salon environment
- Recommend and sell hair care products to guests
- Stay informed about the salon's product offerings and their benefits
- Efficiently manage appointment schedules to minimize guest wait times
- Handle multiple clients and tasks simultaneously without compromising service quality
- Work collaboratively with other salon staff to provide comprehensive guest services
- Assist and support colleagues when needed to ensure smooth salon operations
- Be able to advance from basic to highly skilled hairdresser
Requirements
- Hair dressing diploma or equivalent (level 2-4, one level per year)
- Accreditation from a recognized cosmetology or hairdressing institute
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Knowledge of hair care products and their appropriate usage
- Willingness to attend workshops, Sorbet training sessions, and industry events to stay updated on new techniques and trends
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement
Nice to have:
- Preferable trade test certification from an accredited trade test centre
- Previous experience as a hairdresser in a salon setting
- Proven track record of satisfied guests and successful hair treatments
- 2-3 years’ experience preferred for highly skilled hairdressers
