About This Role
This role is for an experienced and motivated hairdresser to join a salon team. The chosen candidate will offer professional hairdressing services, including consultations, cutting, coloring, styling, and hair treatments. It requires a strong understanding of hair care, products, and current styling techniques, along with high standards of customer service, hygiene, and professional salon practice.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients and provide professional advice on hair care, beauty products, treatments, and hairstyles
- Shampoo, condition, and provide appropriate hair and scalp treatments
- Cut, trim, and style hair using scissors, clippers, razors, and professional styling tools
- Color, highlight, straighten, and permanently wave hair using appropriate chemical products and techniques
- Create and maintain braids, dreadlocks, and hair extensions
- Shave and trim beards and moustaches
- Clean, color, cut, and style wigs and hairpieces where required
- Maintain high standards of salon hygiene, including cleaning work areas and sanitizing tools and equipment
- Manage client appointments, process payments, and deliver professional customer service
- Follow salon procedures, product instructions, workplace health and safety, and infection-control requirements
Requirements
- Certificate III in Hairdressing or equivalent qualification
- Relevant experience in a commercial salon environment
- Strong skills in hair cutting, coloring, styling, and chemical treatments
- Good knowledge of hair care products and ability to provide professional client advice
- Strong attention to detail, hygiene, and presentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Hair styling: 1 year (Required)
- Hair extensions: 1 year (Required)
- Work authorisation: Australia (Required)
