Location: Plano, TX (4 Days Onsite First 6 Months, Then 3 Days Onsite)
Pay Rate: $65 - $73.68/hour
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension or Conversion)
About the Opportunity
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Hadoop Administrator to support a large enterprise data platform and analytics environment. This individual will play a key role in capacity management, resource optimization, and platform analytics initiatives across a large-scale Hadoop ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bring strong Hadoop administration experience, scripting expertise, and the ability to build scalable solutions that drive data-informed decision-making across enterprise platforms.
Must-Have Qualifications
• 7+ years of Hadoop Administration experience in a large enterprise environment
• Strong scripting experience with Python or Shell
• Experience developing API-driven ETL pipelines and interpreting API data
• Strong understanding of Hadoop architecture, engineering, and enterprise-level metrics
• Experience troubleshooting, optimizing, and supporting large-scale data platforms
• Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience with capacity planning and resource utilization analytics
• Cloud platform experience
Position Overview
As a Senior Hadoop Administrator, you will support enterprise data warehouse and data lake environments while helping drive capacity planning, resource optimization, and platform performance initiatives. Responsibilities include building scalable data solutions, developing API-driven integrations, analyzing Hadoop platform metrics, supporting HDFS, Hive, Impala, YARN, and Ozone environments, and contributing to the development of a centralized source of truth for capacity and utilization data. This role requires a highly proactive engineer who can independently lead complex initiatives, identify opportunities for improvement, automate manual processes, and provide technical expertise across enterprise data platforms.
