Gym Teacher/Manager

About This Role

This role involves managing and instructing at a kids' gym, focusing on creating a fun and healthy environment for children and families. The position suits someone who enjoys exercise, working with kids, and being a positive role model, with a goal to make the upcoming year the strongest ever for the gym.

Responsibilities

• Teach children's classes in a warm and friendly atmosphere
• Hire staff who are caring, skillful, talented, enthusiastic, and understanding
• Maintain the gym in a sparkling clean environment
• Check and keep all equipment properly functioning and safe
• Supervise staff in a professional manner with both parents and children
• Plan new programs and events, and implement marketing plans
• Accept party bookings and prepare necessary materials
• Manage the party booking system and ensure proper staffing
• Work as a party host on Saturdays and/or Sundays
• Manage gym class bookings and promote class enrollment
• Provide good customer services to families and children
• Plan and implement summer camp themes and activities
• Manage and schedule staff

Requirements

• Physically fit to operate the gym, small equipment, and promote fitness in young kids
• Self-motivated, responsible, and reliable
• High energy, friendly, and reliable
• Able to teach children 4 months to 12 years of age in a non-competitive environment
• Strong computer skills
• Familiar with social media marketing
• Have reliable transportation

Nice to have:

• Background in gymnastics, early education, marketing, or business management
• Managerial experience
• College degree or 2-3-year college education
• Customer service and marketing experience: 3 years
• Experience working with children and family
• Experience teaching young children

• Tips when working as a party host at weekends (about $30-$50 per party)

• Schedule: weekends and evenings as needed
• Employment type: full-time or part-time, 5-40 hours per week
