Gym Manager

About This Role

This management role is for an energetic, confident, and people-focused individual to oversee the daily operations and growth of the club, working closely with the Club Owners. It suits someone who loves the fitness industry, enjoys connecting with people, and has a natural ability to sell and deliver great customer service. Initially a casual position, this role has the potential to develop into a permanent position with opportunities for additional performance-based incentives.

Responsibilities

• Drive new membership sales and work towards monthly targets
• Respond to and follow up new membership enquiries
• Conduct club tours and convert prospects into members
• Follow up leads via phone, SMS, and email
• Welcome members and create a friendly, positive club environment
• Build relationships with members and support member retention
• Manage member accounts and assist with overdue payments
• Perform general club administration and maintain accurate membership records
• Keep the gym clean, organised, and presented to a high standard
• Ensure club policies and procedures are followed
• Assist with local marketing, promotions, and community engagement
• Identify opportunities to improve the member experience and grow the club

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing, and confident talking to new people
• Motivated by achieving goals and targets
• Comfortable with both telephone and face-to-face sales
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
• Proactive and willing to take ownership of responsibilities
• Passionate about providing an excellent customer experience
• Genuinely interested in health and fitness
• Confident using computers and learning new systems

Previous experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, or the fitness industry would be highly regarded.

Nice to have:

• Previous fitness industry experience
• Certificate III or IV in Fitness
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Previous sales or membership experience
