Group Fitness Instructor

About This Role

Leading group fitness classes and motivating participants to achieve their fitness goals in a safe environment is the main purpose of this role. This position involves delivering classes according to descriptions and ensuring a positive experience for members and guests.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time to begin class in accordance with the group fitness schedule
• Complete class in accordance with the group fitness schedule
• Engage and encourage members and guests before, during, and after class
• Instruct the class as stated in the CHU class descriptions
• Ensure that any equipment is returned to its proper place following class
• Correctly complete the tracking sheet following class, indicating accurate class participation numbers
• Demonstrate proper technique at all times
• Monitor, encourage, and correct participants during class
• Submit class availability, sub requests, and time off in accordance with CHU policy
• Be an advocate for CSU and CHU at all times
• Display a professional and enthusiastic attitude at all times
• Maintain all required certifications

Requirements

• One or more years of experience is preferred
• Required certifications consist of ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or similar certifications
• Specialized certifications are required for Yoga, Pilates, Zumba & Barre
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED/Blood Borne Pathogens certifications are required for file
• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
