Group Fitness Instructor

About This Role

Leading engaging, inclusive, and safe fitness classes for members of all fitness levels is the core of this job. This role suits an instructor passionate about wellness, mindfulness, and helping others find balance within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Lead group yoga classes that promote flexibility, strength, relaxation, and mindfulness
• Provide modifications and encouragement to meet varying participant needs and skill levels
• Maintain a positive, motivating, and welcoming class environment
• Ensure the safety of all participants by following YMCA and industry best practices
• Keep attendance records and assist with promoting group exercise programs
• Support YMCA's mission of healthy spirit, mind, and body for all

Requirements

• Current group fitness certification required (Les Mills, Yoga, etc.)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to connect with participants and foster an inclusive environment
• Ability to physically perform the exercises being taught
• Display the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and adhere to its mission
