Group Finance Manager - Reporting and Control

About This Role

This Group Finance Manager role focuses on financial accounting and control, playing a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across Notting Hill Genesis. The position involves preparing Group and subsidiary statutory accounts, coordinating audits, and ensuring timely regulatory returns. It suits an experienced qualified accountant who combines technical financial accounting expertise with leadership, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely reporting
• Lead and coordinate the delivery of quarterly, interim, and year-end audits across Group entities
• Develop and manage the year-end audit timetable, working collaboratively with Finance Managers, Heads of Service, auditors, and colleagues across NHG to support smooth and timely delivery
• Ensure all required financial regulatory returns and filings are completed accurately and within required deadlines
• Support the Head of Financial Accounting and Control across Group accounting activities and deputise when required
• Lead the monthly reconciliation and accurate recording of intercompany transactions across Group entities
• Undertake quarterly analytical reviews of Group entities, providing meaningful insight into financial performance and financial health
• Prepare and support financial reporting to senior management and relevant committees
• Strengthen financial reporting and internal control processes, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and accuracy of underlying financial data
• Work with colleagues across the organisation to address audit findings and recommendations and continuously improve financial controls
• Build strong and effective relationships with Finance colleagues, auditors, and stakeholders across NHG

Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant with a CCAB-recognised accounting qualification, supported by ongoing Continuing Professional Development
• Extensive experience of preparing statutory accounts from end to end, ideally at Group level within the social housing sector
• Significant experience of leading and managing interim and year-end audits, including coordinating external auditors and internal Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
• Experience of regulatory financial returns and filings, with a track record of delivering accurate submissions within required deadlines
• Strong knowledge and experience of financial controls and the ability to develop, strengthen, and influence control frameworks across Finance and the wider organisation
• Strong Excel skills
