Group Exercise Instructor - Yoga Instructor

About This Role

This role is for a Group Exercise Instructor specializing in Yoga, focusing on delivering high-quality instruction and fostering a positive environment. The instructor will be responsible for leading engaging classes, ensuring member satisfaction, and upholding the standards of the YMCA.

Responsibilities

• Take attendance in every class, requesting all members sign-in prior to the start of each class
• Follow pre-set attendance procedures for premium/specialty programs
• Be in the room 5 minutes prior to the start of class
• Start and end all classes on time
• Put back any materials used for class (steps, mats, weights, etc.) after each class
• Find a substitute if unable to teach a class and notify the group exercise coordinator/wellness director of the change
• Participate in and support all “Annual Campaign” activities and events

Requirements

• Be clean and well groomed
• Ensure all workout attire is clean, neat, and in good repair
• Be prepared to teach and know your routine
• Be familiar with your music
• Possess perfect cueing skills
• Introduce yourself at the beginning of every class
• Teach according to the description of the class
• Attend all staff meetings
• Attend a new employee orientation within 30 days of hire
• Promote YMCA programs, services, and other classes
• Be courteous to all members and staff
• Current CPR and AED certifications
• Certification in AFAA, ACE, ACAM, or the YMCA
• Complete successful criminal background check and drug screen
