Groundskeeper

About This Role

Working in the Maintenance Department, the Groundskeeper is directly responsible for maintaining flower beds, shrubs, hedges, and irrigation systems. This role also oversees the performance of the lawn service contractor and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Daily blowing of walkways and collecting debris throughout the entire campus/property
• Clean and remove leaves/debris from all gutters of buildings and residential units (when applicable)
• Clean gutters and downspouts on single family residences and town homes, which requires climbing ladders
• Pressure wash walkways and driveways throughout the entire campus/property
• Maintain the irrigation equipment in proper working conditions on the entire property
• Responsible for the beautification of the ground for the entire campus/property

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Skilled with landscaping and/or ground keeping tasks combined with one year experience
• Experience in horticulture, preferably licensed
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
