Groundskeeper

About This Role

Keeping assigned grounds and outside areas clean and free of debris is the core of this role, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for customers. This position involves maintaining lawns, plant beds, and irrigation systems, and operating equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Interact effectively with the public and team members
• Perform excellent customer service at all times
• Remove all trash from assigned areas
• Maintain all trash receptacle areas, ensuring all trash is contained
• Maintain lawn areas by mowing, edging, and keeping lawns free of weeds
• Operate all equipment and use chemicals in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and in a safe manner
• Ensure all plant beds are free of weeds, dead flowers, etc.
• Maintain and repair irrigation sprinklers and pipes
• Maintain appropriate fertilizer and water levels on grass, shrubs, plants, etc.
• Maintain all lawn equipment, ensuring cleanliness and working conditions
• Perform any reasonable request made by management

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid California driver's license
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other team members
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
• Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
