About This Role
This role involves performing manual tasks in the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines and other related duties. The position is for a Groundman who will support the crew in various aspects of power distribution system work.
Responsibilities
- Assemble tools and materials on the ground
- Maintain Power Distribution Systems, including running, stringing, and hanging power lines either overhead or underground
- Assist other crew members with duties as needed, including filling pole holes and creating trenches using proper equipment
- Assist with flagging traffic and setting up job sites as assigned
- Organize company tools and materials on work vehicles
- Maintain a clean and safe company work area
- Clean up and organize job sites at completion of work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have a valid Class A CDL within three (3) months of employment
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test
- Adhere to company safety and health policies
- Legally authorized in the United States
- Able to work in a warehouse environment, which includes adapting to seasonal temperature changes and inclement weather
- Able to meet physical requirements such as, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, lifting and maneuvering up 50 lbs. or more without assistance
