DESCRIPTION:

The Auto Parts Delivery Driver drives company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts in the local area. He/she transports products from local parts sources and delivers them to our dealership. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times. This position has been designated as a safety-sensitive position.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license, and a clean driving record. Candidates must be able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles and must have basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance (checking and topping off fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure, performing vehicle safety checks, etc.). Strong communication and customer service skills required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures safe and on-time delivery of parts to the dealership using company vehicles and following all company procedures and standards
  • Inspect delivery vehicle daily for proper operation of all safety items (lights, wipers, etc)
  • Assist with pulling of customer orders when requested
  • Verify that payment has been received and the invoice matches the order for each delivery
  • Keep accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups
  • Load truck with auto parts to be delivered and unload merchandise to customer
  • Assist with customer service activities within retail parts location
  • Obey posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous driver, parts, or automotive experience preferred
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Lifting of heavy items of up to 75 pounds
  • Exposure to adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt and dust
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance
  • Highly professional and dependable
