Duties
As a Grants Management Specialist for the Colorado State Office, you will:
- Execute awards and monitor assistance agreements;
- Provide assistance and expertise to program managers in the drafting, implementation, and evaluation of federal financial assistance agreements;
- Conduct application review for completeness and documentation for compliance with applicable laws, statutes, policies and regulations;
- Perform post-award federal financial assistance administration and monitoring; and,
- Conduct post-award reviews and analyses to identify and resolve management, financial, and administrative issues.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-12, you must satisfy the following requirements:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-11) of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: experience applying complex grant management principles for the purpose of analyzing and evaluating grant programs to ensure and maintain compliance; executing and monitoring a wide variety of complex financial assistance agreements with a variety of terms and conditions; and planning and coordination of procurement activities for the pre-and post-award, or other agreement management functions.
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
