Graduate Secondary Learning Support Assistant Coventry | Full-Time | September Start £20,000 – £25,000 Are you a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching? Do you want to support young people during a pivotal stage of their education? Could you use your knowledge, enthusiasm, and communication skills to help students reach their full potential? A successful and inclusive secondary school in Coventry is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant to join its support team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, SEND, counselling, or another education-focused profession.
Working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, you will support students aged 11–16, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve both academically and personally.
The role:
- Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in lessons
- Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
- Assist teachers in creating engaging and inclusive learning environments
- Support students who require additional academic or pastoral guidance
- Help students build confidence, resilience and independence
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community
The candidate:
- Holds a 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology, Education Studies, Maths, English, Science or a related subject
- Has a genuine passion for education and supporting young people
- Demonstrates strong communication skills
- Is considering a future career in education or a related field
- Has the right to work in the UK
