GP or Endorsed Nurse Practitioner – Telehealth

About the role

Centra Health Group is seeking an experienced General Practitioner or Endorsed Nurse Practitioner with medicinal cannabis prescribing experience to join our growing telehealth team on a contract basis.

This role will have a strong focus on medicinal cannabis consultations, prescribing and ongoing patient management, alongside broader primary healthcare where appropriate.

The position provides flexibility to deliver high-quality care to patients across Australia through our secure telehealth platform, supported by an experienced administration team.

This opportunity is ideal for practitioners who are confident managing medicinal cannabis patients and are seeking flexible telehealth-based work, with earning potential in excess of $200,000 per annum depending on availability, consultation volume and hours worked.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct remote consultations via secure telehealth platforms
• Assess patient suitability for medicinal cannabis treatment
• Prescribe medicinal cannabis where clinically appropriate and within your scope of practice
• Provide ongoing review and management of medicinal cannabis patients
• Monitor treatment effectiveness, adverse effects and patient outcomes
• Develop appropriate treatment plans based on individual patient needs
• Assess, diagnose and manage broader primary healthcare presentations where required
• Prescribe medications and recommend appropriate treatments within your scope of practice
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records
• Arrange appropriate specialist, pathology or imaging referrals where required
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans and responsible medication use
• Collaborate with other practitioners and the Centra Health administrative team
• Maintain compliance with AHPRA requirements, relevant prescribing regulations, privacy legislation and professional standards

What we're looking for

• Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner or Endorsed Nurse Practitioner
• Demonstrated experience prescribing medicinal cannabis
• Strong understanding of medicinal cannabis treatment, patient assessment and ongoing clinical management
• Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Strong clinical experience in general practice or primary healthcare
• Excellent communication and patient-engagement skills
• Ability to work independently in a telehealth environment
• Confidence using electronic medical records and digital healthcare systems
