About the role

Our Team The Government and Public Affairs capability supports all Koch companies in China with government and community engagement, coordination of participation in trade associations and external relations to proactively develop visibility, credibility, and relationships with officials and external stakeholders at different levels and help the companies navigate through regulatory challenges as well develop and utilize opportunities. What You Will Do

  • Partner with cross-functional teams of Koch companies in China to define and clarity GPA priorities that best support business objectives; leverage external resources (e.g., consultants, industry associations, and key stakeholders) to advance GPA initiatives accordingly
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with government authorities, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders to effectively support operations and enable business outcomes
  • Monitor and assess policy, legislative, and regulatory developments in collaboration with consultants and internal capabilities; deliver timely insights and risk/impact analysis and support the development of position papers, consultation responses, and advocacy/engagement materials when necessary
  • Support external communications and CSR initiatives, as needed to strengthen reputation and stakeholder trust

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 8-10 years of experience in government/public affairs
  • BA degree or above (e.g.: social sciences, public relations or related field)
  • Availability to travel within the country
  • English proficiency (spoken & written)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong ethics and compliance behaviors

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in government, association/chamber of commerce, PR agency, or multinational company environments
  • Existing relationships with government authorities, industry associations, or other stakeholders relevant to Koch's businesses in China
  • Experience in the manufacturing and/or electronics sectors are helpful but not required
  • Keen interest and understanding of decision-making process in government including understanding of policies and procedures of various departments
  • Understanding of policy and regulatory issues affecting industries relevant to Koch's businesses
  • Ability to work well with multiple internal teams, balancing differing priorities across companies
