About This Role
This engineering role is crucial for connecting partners with the Just Eat Takeaway platform, focusing on elevating the integration platform while maintaining core functionality. The position involves building high-volume POS and menu integrations for global brands and contributing to system design.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust, high-throughput microservices and features in Go
- Work proactively in a Kanban continuous delivery environment, participating in refinements and actively picking up work
- Champion system health by taking a proactive stance on reliability, participating in weekly signal channel reviews to identify, investigate, and resolve production anomalies
- Help implement scalable solutions and engage in technical discussions alongside senior engineers shaping the wider architecture
- Support product and delivery teams to ensure integrations roll out smoothly across international markets
Requirements
- Solid Go experience with a few years of commercial experience writing clean, efficient, and testable code
- A proactive mindset, actively seeking ways to improve the codebase, fix bugs, and streamline processes
- A good understanding of microservices and event-driven design, including the complexities of eventual consistency and distributed systems
- An SRE mindset, caring deeply about what happens after code goes live and focusing on maintaining and improving production services
- Great communication, comfortable "working out loud" and explaining technical concepts to non-technical folks
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and openness to pair programming when tackling complex problems
- Comfortable using AI coding assistants and LLMs to enhance daily workflow
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services, including DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, and S3
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in an international company or with high-volume transactional systems (like POS or e-commerce)
- Experience with Kafka
