It suits a manager who can ensure uninterrupted supply for next-generation hardware platforms at Google's scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage critical supplier relationships through geopolitical diversification, such as a Southeast Asia footprint strategy, and establish secure dual-sourcing pipelines for highly constrained raw materials to guarantee uninterrupted supply for next-generation hardware platforms
- Develop supply chain diversification strategies and execute against those strategies for supply assurance
- Formulate analytical models to reconcile demand forecasts against supplier capacities, proactively resolving allocation deficits
- Synthesize complex hardware demand forecasts against tier-1 fab and sub-tier material capacities to guide executive decision-making
- Partner with hardware design engineering, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), quality, and finance to align technology roadmaps with sourcing strategies
- Drive cost modeling and total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
- Experience in commodity management, sourcing, procurement, or materials management in the electronics industry
Nice to have:
- Experience managing supplier relationships, including capacity planning, performance tracking, and proven success deploying supply chains with high technology products
- Proven technical proficiency in electronics supply chain processes in PCBs, PCBAs, interconnects, ICs, or other related electronics products
- Advanced analytical proficiency in demand/supply matching, capacity planning, scenario modeling, and bridging forecast gaps to mitigate component and raw material shortages
- Ability to identify and execute mitigation strategies for supply chain risks, such as capacity constraints or geopolitical challenges, using dual-sourcing or similar pipelines
