We are seeking a Global Protection Technical Advisor to join our team Internationally or from our North Wilkesboro office. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Global Protection Technical Advisor,you will have the opportunity to:
- Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
- Provide high-quality technical advice, accompaniment and mentoring to staff on all aspects of Protection across humanitarian contexts, with a particular focus on Psychosocial Social Support (PSS) interventions and strengthening the family, including through remote and in-country support, through the development and disseminations of guidelines, tools, and training materials.
- Maintain strong relationships with Protection sector and Program managers in country offices as well as other staff providing technical input during the span of the entire program cycle. This includes supporting and reviewing needs assessments, program design, the technical implementation of projects, monitoring and evaluation and lessons learned.
- Facilitate capacity building of staff members on PSS, child protection, protection mainstreaming, and community level protection.
- Provide technical guidance on the integration of appropriate protection mainstreaming, psychosocial support interventions, child protection themes for all other sectoral interventions.
- Stay abreast of sectoral best practices, minimum standards, developments and trends, and research.
- Travel, to undertake above tasks, including insecure operating environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
What are the qualifications?

As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant graduate/post-graduate degree (Social work, Public Health, Psychology, International Development etc.), relevant humanitarian training, and 5 years' experience in the humanitarian sector in a programmatic role with experience internationally; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience from humanitarian and development contexts, especially in implementation of protection programs and/or mainstreaming protection principles and implementation of PSS programs into humanitarian programming.
- Experience working with individuals and groups at risk or victims of abuse, exploitation and violence.
- Experience of working in humanitarian or insecure settings.
- Experience supporting skills building and capacity strengthening, including developing training materials, providing training to a range of audiences, and providing accompaniment/mentoring.
