Global HR Director (Manufacturing)
We are assisting a conglomerate manufacturing business to look for an experienced and commercially minded Global HR Director to lead their HR Business Partnering function across a complex, multi-country manufacturing organization. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating business priorities into people strategies that drive organizational performance, capability building, and sustainable growth.
Position Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team and global business leaders on all people-related matters.
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives, growth plans, and operational priorities.
- Provide insight and recommendations on workforce trends, organizational effectiveness, talent risks, and leadership capability.
- Influence business decisions through data-driven people analytics and workforce insights.
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Lead organizational design and restructuring initiatives to support evolving business needs.
- Partner with leaders on operating model optimization, role design, and workforce productivity improvements.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, business integrations, and transformation programs as required.
- Drive change management strategies across global teams and geographies.
- Lead global talent review processes and succession planning activities.
- Develop robust leadership pipelines across manufacturing, operations, engineering, and commercial functions.
- Partner with business leaders to identify critical capability gaps and implement talent solutions.
- Oversee high-potential employee programs and leadership development initiatives.
- Develop global workforce planning strategies aligned with long-term business objectives.
- Partner with business units to forecast talent requirements, skills gaps, and future workforce needs.
- Support strategic hiring initiatives in growth markets and critical manufacturing locations.
- Ensure effective talent deployment across regions and functions.
- Coach senior leaders to strengthen leadership effectiveness, team performance, and employee engagement.
- Champion employee engagement initiatives across global operations.
- Drive culture transformation programs aligned with organizational values and strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and employment regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or related discipline.
- Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Relevant HR certifications (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CIPD, or equivalent) advantageous.
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with significant experience in HR Business Partnering.
- Proven track record supporting global manufacturing, industrial, engineering, automotive, electronics, consumer goods, or related sectors.
- Experience partnering with C-suite and senior executives in a multinational environment.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation, workforce planning, and talent initiatives at scale.
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed operations across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas.
- Exposure to matrix organizations with diverse cultural environments.
- Fluency in Cantonese, English & Mandarin is essential.
