About This Role
This glazier role involves installing, repairing, and replacing glass in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. The position suits an energetic glazier who is skilled in handling glass materials and tools, and passionate about delivering top-quality craftsmanship on every project.
Responsibilities
- Measure and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to determine glass specifications and installation requirements
- Handle glass materials safely, including cutting, fabricating, and fitting glass panels for windows, doors, fixtures, and custom projects
- Install glass in various structures such as windows, doors, partitions, and display cases with precision and care
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, assemble, and secure glass components according to project specifications
- Perform heavy lifting of glass panels and materials while following safety protocols to prevent damage or injury
- Conduct quality control measurements to ensure proper fit, finish, and adherence to construction plans
- Assist with related tasks such as drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, remodeling projects, and handyman duties as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or glazing roles with knowledge of glass materials handling and installation techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and interpreting construction plans
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, putty knives) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) safely and effectively
- Strong understanding of measurement techniques for quality control and precise fabrication
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly while maintaining safety standards
- Construction site experience demonstrating safety awareness and teamwork skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with window installation, door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet setup, and metal stud framing
- Knowledge of drywall finishing, caulking procedures, trim carpentry skills, and general remodeling practices
