Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every museum visitor. Shop Assistants provide exceptional customer service, engage with guests, and help ensure each visitor enjoys their time at Belmont Mansion.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting museum visitors in a warm, engaging, and professional manner.
- Taking initiative to anticipate visitors’ needs and provide personalized, above-and-beyond service.
- Processing sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintaining an attractive, organized, and well-stocked museum shop.
- Pricing merchandise and restocking inventory as needed.
- Answering phone calls and responding to visitor inquiries.
- Assisting the Shop Manager with other tasks as needed.
The Belmont Mansion Museum Shop is located inside the historic house museum on campus. Shifts typically range from 2-6 hours, depending upon availability and museum needs.
Required Qualifications
Ideal candidates are dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and enjoy interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Ideal applicants should have strong customer service and interpersonal skills; and the ability to remain positive, respectful, and flexible in a fast-paced environment; and experience operating a point-of-sale system.
Shop Assistants are focused on providing all guests with a first-rate experience.
Must have FWS Award to apply.
Required Education
Must be enrolled as a student at Belmont University.
