General Help Full time, 3 Month Contract

• Position Summary

The General Helper supports daily facility operations in a busy office environment with multiple kitchens, washrooms, common areas, and conference/event spaces. This role helps maintain cleanliness, organization, safety, and overall workplace readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchens, washrooms, counters, appliances, and high-touch surfaces
• Load and unload dishwashers, rinse/wash dishes and replenish supplies
• Spot mop floors and respond to spills or cleaning requests
• Set up and maintain conference rooms and event spaces
• Organize storage areas and assist with deliveries and moving supplies
• Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Replace light bulbs and safely use ladders for minor facility tasks
• Assist with vendor escorts and on-demand operational requests
• Update, log, and record activities related to service requests and completed tasks
• Support general facilities operations and perform other related duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent lifting, able to lift 30-50lbs, carrying, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-traffic areas
• Ability to safely use ladders and handle physical cleaning tasks

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, facilities, hospitality, or general labour experience preferred
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Good communication and teamwork skills
