About the role
Role: Senior Cloud Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead GCP infrastructure design and implementation using Terraform, ensuring best practices for security, modularity, and maintainability.
- Design and manage GCP networking, hybrid cloud integrations, and secure connectivity solutions.
- Build scalable data platforms with services like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub to support analytics initiatives.
- Support Generative AI projects by leveraging GCP AI/ML tools, especially Vertex AI.
- Implement security controls, IAM/RBAC policies, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Develop automated CI/CD pipelines for GCP resource provisioning using tools such as Jenkins or Google Cloud Build.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and operational tools to optimize platform performance and reliability.
- Provide technical mentorship to team members, fostering continuous learning and engineering excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least five years of recent experience with GCP or equivalent cloud systems.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience designing cloud architectures, implementing production infrastructure, and working with cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Proficiency in scripting, Unix/Linux environments, source code management (GIT, SVN), and communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of networking, security protocols, identity management, and compliance standards.
- Ability to develop scalable, highly available systems and experience with cloud data and analytics platforms is a plus.
