About This Role
Working at Oddfellahs, the Gaming Attendant helps guests place wagers, cash winning tickets, and answers questions, ensuring every transaction is handled accurately and responsibly. This role suits a friendly and dependable individual who can keep things moving behind the counter in a busy sportsbook.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and help them place sports wagers using the sportsbook terminal
- Explain basic betting options, odds, ticket information, and house rules clearly, without giving betting advice
- Accept payments, issue tickets, redeem winning wagers, and keep your cash drawer accurate and balanced
- Verify identification and follow age-verification, responsible-gaming, security, and regulatory procedures
- Spot and promptly report unusual transactions, guest concerns, or anything that needs a supervisor
- Work with the rest of the Oddfellahs team to keep the experience friendly, organized, and fun
Requirements
- A welcoming attitude, good judgment, and genuine comfort talking with guests
- Strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and confidence handling cash and computers
- Reliability under pressure and availability for evenings, weekends, and major sporting events
- Reliability during slower times, and a willingness to help out when needs arise
- Experience in hospitality, retail, cash handling, or a sportsbook is helpful, but the right approach matters most
- Ability to obtain and maintain the Maine sports wagering occupational license required for the role, including applicable suitability checks
