About This Role
This Game Developer role focuses on building and maintaining the backend services and logic for games, working with APIs, databases, and game-related systems. It suits a developer with strong analytical skills and a foundational understanding of game design.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs for backend services
- Work with SQL databases, including designing schemas, writing queries, and ensuring data consistency
- Use JPA/Hibernate for ORM and database operations
- Collaborate with the team to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve performance
- Document and test APIs using tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI or Postman
- Implement game mechanics, probabilities, and algorithms using strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills
- Create and implement game logic based on a basic understanding of game design principles
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience as a Game Developer
- Proficient in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience developing REST APIs and backend game logic
- Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI for API documentation and testing
- Knowledge of JPA/Hibernate and relational databases (e.g., MySQL/MariaDB)
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, clean code principles, and Git
- Ability to create, maintain, debug, optimize, and improve backend code and services
- Strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills, particularly for implementing game mechanics, probabilities, and algorithms
- Basic understanding of game design principles and the ability to create and implement game logic
Nice to have:
- Experience with game-related systems (RNG, transactions, matchmaking, leaderboards, etc.)
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Experience or familiarity with JPA/Hibernate
- Basic understanding of Git and collaborative development
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, etc.)
- Experience developing or maintaining online or multiplayer game systems
- Knowledge of probability, statistics, or game mathematics
