About the role

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables: Manage, coordinate and facilitate all regional programs

  • Facilitate the L&D process for each program
  • Identify learning needs per program
  • Customise relevant learning material for the project from current course material, in conjunction with the Global People Development Team
  • Facilitate training where required
  • Facilitate regular contact sessions with learners to evaluate learning processes
  • Feedback to all stakeholders with regards to learners process as per agreed deadlines
  • Address / facilitate areas of concerns as identified during evaluation process
  • Identify risks and escalate where appropriate
  • Engage and manage relationship with L&D team to ensure there are adequate resources available and results can be delivered on time

Regional Training Needs Analysis

  • Conduct assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs across different departments and levels within the organization
  • Establish and maintain a training calendar for the year per respective region
  • Maintain the Foundational Training Framework and building blocks needs

Assist in curriculum development and content creation

  • Curriculum Development: Design comprehensive training programs aligned with organisational goals and individual development plans
  • Content Creation: Develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and online courses, to support learning objectives

L&D Reporting and Insights

  • Ensure the timely submission of regional L&D Reports and insights as required
  • Participate and assist in preparing stakeholder specific reports based on client requirements
  • Measure the effectiveness of training initiatives through feedback surveys, assessments, and performance metrics
  • Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Manage the organisation's LMS, including course mapping & enrollment, tracking progress, generating reports

Effective Project Management

  • Manage, monitor and contribute to various project activities based on changing needs and requirements
  • Participate and assist in preparations for meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively manage stakeholders updates and communication of key project achievements
  • Effectively manage escalation of project tasks to internal stakeholders and/or external third party suppliers

Sound up to date knowledge of local and international best practice

  • Research key trends globally and scan industry to discern trends and new thinking that has relevance to the business
  • Look for ways to benchmark best practice and measure and monitor ROI
  • Make recommendations for enhancing training strategies and methodologies
  • Leverage on the best practices across the Smollan Group

Regional L&D audits

  • Ensure training programs comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, particularly in areas such as safety, diversity, and ethics
  • Verify training material and ensure alignment with relevant regional needs
  • Ensure alignment with regional legislative skills requirements where applicable e.g Health and Safety
  • Conduct regional L&D audits as per set timelines

Effective teamwork and self-management

  • Collaborate with functional or business heads, managers, and subject matter experts to ensure training programs meet the needs of both employees and the organization
  • Proactively develop own skills and knowledge of relevant best practice and ensure appropriate skills and knowledge transfer
  • Actively and consistently maintain high standards of professionalism in all aspects of person presentation and delivery
  • Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained including meeting all deadlines
  • Ensure data integrity of all reports to client and management
  • Demonstrate consistent application of internal procedures
  • Plan and priorities, demonstrating ability to manage competing demands
  • Demonstrate abilities to anticipate and manage change
  • Demonstrate flexibility in balancing achievements of own objectives with abilities to understand and respond to organizational needs

1-2 years Proven experience in learning and development, preferably in a corporate/retail environment||Essential / Minimum|0-5 years|

A tertiary qualification or Diploma
