Strong academic performance, motivation, and proficiency in at least one of UNICEF’s working languages (English, French, or Spanish) are required. Relevant professional experience is an added advantage.
No immediate relatives working at UNICEF in a reporting line are allowed.
– Fully Funded Benefits: Selected interns receive comprehensive support, including stipends (with some positions offering up to $17.50–$18 per hour), potential travel and accommodation assistance depending on the duty station, and valuable exposure to global humanitarian work.
Many opportunities are available in remote, hybrid, or on-site formats.
– Duration and Locations: Internships typically last from 6 to 26 weeks, with placements offered worldwide, including headquarters in New York, regional offices, and country-specific roles.
In Nigeria, for instance, batch recruitment is ongoing for Social Policy Intern positions in Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Bauchi, Enugu, and Sokoto (2.5 months duration). Other openings include roles in Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, Valencia (Spain), and various global teams.
– Available Roles: Positions span multiple fields such as Social Policy, Communications and Digital Impact, Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilisation, Marketing, and more. Examples include Digital Platforms & Engagement Intern, Communications Intern, and specialised policy roles.
