About the role
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services on Azure using C# / .NET. Build and maintain the Angular front-end components that consume those services. Review system specifications and user stories and translate them into working solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver REST APIs, including versioning and backwards compatibility
- Implement the Azure components the solution requires — Functions and Durable Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, and Storage
- Model and manage data across Cosmos DB and Azure SQL, including partitioning, indexing, and query performance
- Implement Azure AI Search indexes, indexers, and data sources to support the solution's search requirements
- Collaborate with the delivery team to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify bottlenecks and defects and design solutions to resolve them
- Apply secure coding practices across the stack — OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, managed identities, RBAC, and Key Vault
- Write and maintain automated tests at unit, integration, and contract level
- Maintain code quality, organisation, and automation, and participate actively in code reviews
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
About you
- Proficiency in C# / .NET for backend services
- Experience with Angular for front-end components
- Experience with Azure components — Functions and Durable Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, and Storage
- Experience with Cosmos DB and Azure SQL
- Experience with Azure AI Search
- Knowledge of secure coding practices — OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, managed identities, RBAC, and Key Vault
- Experience writing and maintaining automated tests at unit, integration, and contract level
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Bicep and ARM
- Ability to work within Agile delivery teams
