About the role
The MDS Nurse is responsible for accurately completing Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) components, including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
They ensure assessments accurately reflect residents’ clinical status and support individualized care plans.
Key responsibilities include understanding RAI guidelines, PDPM, ICD-10 coding, Quality Measures, and regulatory standards, with a focus on independent functioning and leadership skills.
Qualifications include RN licensure with preferred experience in MDS/RAI processes, assessment skills, and current CPR certification.
Ideal candidates possess knowledge of the PPS, Case Mix systems, and compliance requirements, demonstrating strong assessment and organizational skills.
