Full-Time Assistant Manager

About This Role

This full-time Assistant Manager role supports the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, recruiting, and developing a passionate team within a retail store that focuses on music and pop culture. The ideal candidate is a leader who can drive sales, build customer relationships, and manage store operations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales plan and/or comparable sales goals
• Help recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative and passionate team
• Create buzz and customer engagement through promotion of new products, social media platforms, and additional benefits such as BOPIS and curbside pickup
• Provide leadership for running an operationally sound business, balancing operations, delegation, autonomy, and customer-first selling practices
• Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules
• Collaboratively communicate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback
• Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy to hit sales targets
• Merchandise the store in a compelling way, leveraging planograms as a guide, and launching all promotions on time
• In partnership with the Store Manager, develop a high-performing and customer-focused team of associates

Requirements

• At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience
• Proven ability to lead successful teams
• Skills in communication, recruiting, operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising), and team development
• Strong communication, time management, and professionalism skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; a degree is a plus
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing retail industry
• Ability to navigate the store, merchandise product utilizing approved store equipment, and pack and unpack boxes of merchandise that may weigh up to 50 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation)
