Front-end Developer

About This Role

This role is for a Front-end Developer who will build custom websites, webshops, and web applications, focusing on high-quality, maintainable code rather than templates or page builders. You will manage your own client portfolio and contribute to projects from design to delivery, ensuring technical excellence and long-term quality.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs into custom front-end solutions in Craft CMS and WordPress
• Build custom themes and components instead of using off-the-shelf solutions
• Utilize Bootstrap and Vue when appropriate for projects
• Implement REST and GraphQL connections for API and headless projects
• Contribute ideas on feasibility, interaction, accessibility, and performance
• Work on technically robust websites suitable for further SEO development
• Manage code via Git, including clean commits and code reviews
• Contribute to the company's component library, standards, and working methods
• Actively participate in design discussions and suggest technical improvements for efficiency, speed, or user-friendliness

Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience as a front-end developer, preferably at an agency or in custom projects
• Experience with custom themes and custom implementations in WordPress, Craft CMS, or a comparable CMS
• Experience with Git and collaborating in a shared codebase
• Attention to detail and a sense of quality
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your own work
• Good command of spoken and written Dutch and English

Nice to have:

• Experience with Vue or a comparable framework
• A sense for animation and interactive campaign sites
• Knowledge of API connections and headless architecture
• Basic knowledge of back-end development
