About This Role
This role is for a Front Desk Clerk who provides superior customer service and handles guest accommodations, reservations, and accounts efficiently. The position requires a positive attitude, the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers, and resilience in dealing with difficult customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service and positively affect interactions with customers and employees
- Deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions
- Work harmoniously with coworkers
- Assign guest accommodations in accordance with current procedures
- Handle assigned bank properly and perform account postings
- Maintain knowledge of hotel occupancy status, special events, in-house groups, and other situations affecting the reception desk's daily operation
- Accept same day and advance reservations as required
- Process guest accounts upon checkout in an efficient and accurate manner
- Maintain guest relations in a positive manner
- Refer guests to appropriate personnel if unable to satisfy complaints
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of all property services and entertainment opportunities
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively at all times with customers, as well as all levels of employees
- Ability to move around the service desk effectively, pull up portfolios, reach across counter for customer transactions, and retrieve and replace safety deposit boxes as needed
- Ability to effectively use a computer to access, understand, and input customer information
- Experience with AS/400 hotel computer system, adding machine, and credit card machine
- Effective communication skills
- Obtain and maintain valid alcohol serving permits
- Must be age 18 or older
