About the role
Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) Assistant
Job Goal: The FFVP is a USDA-funded program that provides free fresh fruits and vegetables to children in participating elementary schools. The program's goals include:
- Increasing children's fruit and vegetable consumption
- Expanding the variety of fruits and vegetables children experience
- Influencing children's life-long eating habits
- Creating healthier school environments
Qualifications:
- Background check: A clean background check
- Organization: The ability to prioritize and multitask
- Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Appearance: A professional appearance
- Strength: The ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs
- Dexterity: Manual dexterity to handle boxes and supplies.
- Washing, sorting, counting and distributing fruits and vegetables to students
- Clean and prep fruits and vegetables for distribution
Salary & Schedule:
- 9 hours per week (Monday-Wednesday)
- $15.00 per hour
- 10:00 A.M. -1:00 P.M.
