Freight Broker

About This Role

Managing day-to-day brokerage operations, carrier relationships, and shipment execution is the core of this Freight Broker role. This position requires strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills to ensure freight moves safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Responsibilities

• Manage carrier assignment, driver dispatching, and daily load execution
• Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to ensure reliable capacity
• Negotiate carrier rates and manage costs in a dynamic freight market
• Proactively track shipments and communicate updates to customers
• Ensure compliance with DOT laws, regulations, and internal procedures
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, quotes, and carrier performance

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in truckload dispatch or freight brokerage operations
• Solid understanding of DOT laws and transportation compliance
• Experience using freight booking platforms (e.g., Truckstop, DAT)
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to adapt to market changes
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Reliable, self-starter with strong time management and problem-solving abilities

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
• Experience managing carrier networks or dedicated fleets
• Positive customer feedback or proven success in meeting service KPIs
